Dbacks win game 2, World Series tied 1-1

The "Answerbacks" did just that during game 2 of the World Series.  They didn't have to come from behind to take the lead, but they did come back from a 1-0 hole and tied up the World Series.

An amazing performance by Merrill Kelly silenced the Rangers bats and the hot bats from Ketel Marte and  Corbin Carroll provided the offense as Arizona dominated in a 9-1 win.

The Rangers walked 10 times in game 1, but only 1 time last night.

Kelly was lights out.  He went 7 innings, allowed 3 hits, 1 run and had 9 K's.  A dominating performance that shut down the Rangers offense.

The top 3 for Texas that have been so good, Semien, Seager and Carter, were a combined 2-11 with 5 K's.
Montgomery didn't pitch bad for the Rangers, but his velocity was down, and the TV broadcast was sure that was because of the added stress from pitching in relief of Game 7 a few days prior to the game.

It is the World Series.  Everyone is tired, beat up and exhausted.  These guys have been battling since March...the fact that Kelly stepped up and pitched the game of his life is an amazing feat.  Montgomery might have a chance for revenge later in the series, but the Rangers fell as they did all year.
This isn't scientific, but it feels like they either score 10 or 1.  

Monday we have Scherzer v Pfaadt.  Pfaadt had an amazing game 7 against Philly, where Scherzer kept his team in it against the Astros, but hasn't pitched great since returning from injury.
Can't wait to see which pitcher steps up and which offense figures it out first.  
This series is going 7, and getting there will be fun.
